Sacramento has dozens of quality hotel properties. Each of the primary hotels for the 2011 WMA Championships offers convenient light rail access and is within a 15-mile (24 km) drive to the competition venues.
Athletes can book with these hotels immediately. More hotels will be available as the event draws nearer. Check back here for more hotel and housing information as the 2011 WMA Championships draw nearer.
You can book your room using a credit card, a check or by doing a bank transfer. If you are using a credit card, it must be valid through your check-out date.
If you are reserving by check, payment must be received within 2 weeks of making reservation or room(s) will be forfeited. Please make check payable to your selected hotel and send it to the SCVB c/o WMA 2011 Housing at 1608 "I" Street, Sacramento, CA, 95814, USA. Please be sure to include the name(s) of the athletes that the check will be covering when mailing it in. If you want to do a bank transfer, please contact the WMA Housing Department for assistance.

Be sure to book your room early to get the best deal! Some hotels offer kitchens and some offer breakfast. In addition, most hotels will have access to transportation to the venues. Be aware of the room type you select to know if your choice will accommodate the total number of guests you will house there. Room rates will include any additional taxes and fees. Wherever possible, the room cost will be broken down by total number of occupants.

Getting to and Getting Around Sacramento
With 40 U.S. cities providing nonstop service to California’s capital city, Sacramento International Airport (SMF) serves cities from around the U.S. and the world. Service is available from 13 major carriers and one commuter airline. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, SMF recently added several new carriers (Mexicana, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, ExpressJet, and Air Canada) to its roster. There are other major airports within two hours of Sacramento: San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland and Reno.
Sacramento is accessible from all directions by major freeways. Interstate 80 and Highway 50 run east-west while Interstate 5 and Highway 99 run north-south.
Of particular interest to WMA participants
is Sacramento’s outstanding light rail transit
system. Light rail trains begin operation
at 4:30 a.m. with service every 15 minutes
during the day and every 30 minutes in the
evening, 365 days a year. There are light rail
stations within walking distance of each of the
three venues being used for the 2011 WMA
